The Kentucky Railway Museum
How long is the train ride?
The train excursion is approximately 90 minutes in duration, round trip, and covers 22 miles round trip. Evening dining trips are 2 hours.
Is their a minimum or maximum age to ride the train?
No, all ages may ride. Under the age of 2 is free.
Are there restrooms on the train?
Not at present. However the dining car does have one restroom available.
What does the trip consist of?
The train travels through the Rolling Fork River Valley and through the beautiful Kentucky countryside. We do stop at a half way point in Boston, Kentucky and you are allowed to de-board and use the restroom facilities or purchase food items from the local store. Other than popcorn you may bring food and drink items onto the train.

How should I dress?
Comfortable, dining trips and mystery theatre trains are business casual.

Do I need a reservation?
Certain special events will require an advance reservation and will require a credit card. We do accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Please call to see if your visit will require a reservation.
Is smoking permitted on the train?
Our facility and train are non-smoking.
What is a Mystery Theatre?
Mystery Theatre is geared toward adults and content is generally considered P-G 13. Your $54.50 cost includes play, 4 course meal and your train excursion. Dress is business casual. The entire event last approximately 3 hours. Reservations are required.
What does locomotive cab ride mean?
This is a ride in the engine with the engineer. Only ages 7 and up are allowed due to safety regulations. The child must be accompanied by an adult.
What are steam fares?
Steam fares are slightly higher than diesel fares. Our steam engine L & N 152 runs on selected weekends and has a separate schedule which is listed on our brochure as well as our website.
When does Thomas the Tank Engine visit?
He typically visits in early summer. Please call or check website for exact dates.
Do you allow pets?
We allow only service animals.
Is the Kentucky Railway Museum a non profit?
Yes, we are a 501 c 3 non profit organization
