How long is the train ride?

The Boston train excursion is approximately one hour and 30 minutes in duration, the Gethsemane excursion is 45 minutes.

Is there a minimum or maximum age to ride the train?

No, all ages may ride. Children under the age of 2 are free.

Dine By Rail is 13 and over.

Are there restrooms on the train?

No

What does the trip consist of?

The train travels through the historic L&N Lebanon Branch.  It is the most historic and oldest portion of the entire Louisville & Nashville Railroad.  In 1855 the first rails were laid on the Lebanon Branch.

What is your cancellation policy?

You must cancel your reservation within 7 days.  If it is not within the cancellation period (7 days) there are no refunds.

What is your Museum admission?

The Museum admission is $7.00 for adults and $3.00 for children ages 2-12.  The Museum is included when train fare is purchased.

Do I need a reservation?

Reservations are highly suggested and are required for specialty trains.    We gladly accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Payment is required at the time of reservation.

Is smoking permitted on the train?

Our facility and train are non-smoking.

What does Locomotive Cab Ride mean?

This is a ride in the engine with the engineer. Only ages 13 and up are allowed due to safety regulations.

Do you allow pets?

Service animals only

Is the Kentucky Railway Museum a non-profit?

Yes, we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Is your train handicap accessible?

Yes, with some limitations. Wheelchair cannot be more than 26.5″ wide.  Please call ahead if you have specific questions regarding handicap accessibility.

When does your train run?

The train runs April-mid December, schedules varies depending on the time of year.

Are train cars airconditioned?  

Yes, all train cars are climate controlled, air conditioning in the summer and heat in the winter.
